Cardiff

The Boatyard

Lady Amalia is berthed at Cambrian Marina, a short way up the River Ely which flows into Cardiff Bay. There are parking and shower facilities at the marina, and there are many supermarkets and restaurants within easy reach.

The ice rink and swimming pool in the new International Sports Village are within easy walking distance of the marina.

Cardiff Bay

It takes around 15-20 minutes to motor the boat around to Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay. We can tie up by the bars, cafes and restaurants, put £1 an hour into the meter, and go and enjoy the delights of the area. This is a great option for your first night on board if we are making a morning departure the next day.

Apart from the dozens of eating places, there are many places to explore around Mermaid Quay; including the Welsh Assembly building, the Wales Millennium Centre, Roald Dahl Plass (a market area), Techniquest and more. The main shopping centre of Cardiff, the main railway station, Cardiff Castle and the Millennium Stadium are only 10 to 20 minutes walk from Mermaid Quay.
